La nouvelle, terrible, est tombée ce dimanche 26 janvier, sur les coups de 20 heures 30, heure française. Kobe Bryant, la légende du basket-ball, a trouvé la mort dans un accident d’hélicoptère à Calabasas, dans le comté de Los Angeles. Il avait 41 ans. La deuxième fille de Bryant, Gianna, 13 ans, ainsi que l’entraîneur de l’équipe de baseball d’Orange Coast College (OCC) John Altobelli, sa femme et une de leurs filles ont aussi perdu la vie dans cet accident.
L’annonce du décès du Black Mamba a eu l’effet d’une déflagration dans le monde entier : des personnalités politiques et artistiques ont rapidement rendu hommage au célèbre numéro 8 et 24 des Los Angeles Lakers.
